Comments: Ranger took down Albany in a five game match. Utopia, Medina and Leakey are 1-2-3 in district play. Iola beat Normangee while Milano (26-10, 7-0) extended its winning streak to 12 games by taking care of District 16-A opponents Bremond and Mumford over the last week. For Milano, Masey Turnage tallied 15 kills, eight digs and two aces, while Taryn Love complimented with 12 kills, one dig and one block.  Jenna Morgan recorded five kills, seven digs and three aces, Desiree Adrian three kills, three digs and one ace, and Brittany Compton four digs and one ace. Allison Dodd had 18 assists, eight digs and one kill, and Stephanie Philpott had 17 assists, three digs and one ace. Fayetteville got hot at the right time posting a 6-0 district mark with wins over Round Top Carmine in Burton although they have an 11-14 overall record. Louise (30-2) downed Ganado (20-10) 25-19, 25-15, 25-21 and Yorktown 30-28, 25-14, 25-22.  Louise has clinched district title at 11-0, 30-2 overall.  Flatonia swept Shiner. Utopia defeated Leakey 20-25, 17-25, 25-20, 26-24, 15-6 while Medina beat Center Point 25-15, 26-24, 25-11.   Detroit defeated Avery and Avery defeated Roxton.

Comments: Defending state champion Bushland swept Amarillo Highland Park 25-17, 25-15, 25-13 to improve to 23-11, 7-0 and wins the District 1-2A title. Kenzie Walden had 11 kills and Tiara Kelley 10 kills for the victorious Falcons.  Sharisa Stoddard finished with 30 assists. In a case of copy oversight, Alpine was reported to have won a match actually won by Freer.  Freer beat 1A State Ranked Santa Gertrudis Academy with scores of 25-19, 25-22, 23-25, 25-19. Avery Acker led the way with 30 kills, 8 assists, 5 blocks, 19 digs, 3 aces and Celeste Laredo with 14 kills, 10 digs while Jessi Robertson had 36 assists, 4 blocks, 5 digs, 3 aces. Freer is now 22-8 for the season.  Nocona (5-0) downed Henrietta (3-2) in Nocona 25-21, 25-19, 25-19.  Henrietta will finish second in district. Bowie (1-3) has to defeat City View (2-3), Holliday (1-4) and Nocona.  Denver City swept Littlefield.  Salado is back and demolished a good Rogers team. Hallettsville  beat East Bernard 3-1.  Brazos and Schulenburg also won. Quitman won twice last week defeating the Caddo Mills Lady Foxes 10-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-19 then beating Grand Saline Lady Indians 25-11, 25-9, 25-22. Quitman clinched first place in district 13AA and is 8-0 in district and 31-6 overall.   Crawford beat Moody 25-19, 25-14, 25-17 then beat Bruceville Eddy 25-16, 25-19, 25-12.  Crawford is 10-1 followed by Hico at 9-2 and Clifton at 8-3. Godley is 32-5 and 11-0 and running district while the Freer Lady Bucks remain undefeated in District with a 9-0 record, 24-8. Arp improved to 28-8 (6-0 in district) by beating West Rusk 25-5, 25-11, 25-12 and Troup 23-25,25-18,25-21,25-12.  Weimar beat Hempstead and Rice to improve to 10-0 in district and 31-4 on the season clinching their district championship. Perennial power Poth is tuning up and looks to be a force in playoffs  The Pirettes have lost to a who’s who of ranked larger schools and have beaten more than eight ranked 3A and 4A opponents. Schulenburg swept Hallettsville behind sophomore Leah Mikesky, who had 20 kills and 5 aces. Schulenburg took over sole possession of second place. Shiner is 23-8, 7-1 after sweeping SA Stacey. White Oak is 37-0 and just cruising their competition.

Comments: Lovejoy beat Quinlan 25-4, 25-12, 25-9 to improve to 33-6 while Devine is 24-6 overall and 5-1 in District 29-3A losing only to Lytle in four games 27-25, 25-21, 23-25, 25-21. In District 2-3A, Graham and Abilene Wylie are 5-0 followed by Sweetwater and 2008 state finalist Brownwood.  Cuero swept Edna 3-0.  Van Alstyne is 27-7 and 4-3 in district after beating both Paris North Lamar 25-19, 25-27, 25-13, 25-21 and Anna 25-14, 25-18, 25-23.  Mexia defeated Robinson 18-25, 25-15, 25-23, 25-19  to improve to 27-10, 6-1 with Robinson dropping into 5-2 in district.  Lorena improves to 5-2 in district by beating Groesbeck  25-15, 25-19, 18-25, 23-25, 15-6.  Center beat Diboll 25-19, 20-25, 25-18, 25-17 to drop the lady Jacks to 4-3 in District play and 21-14 overall.  Prosper fell to 33-3 with their first district loss of the season to Celina.  Decatur continues to roll through district beating Vernon 25-15, 25-14, 25-12 and Hirschi 25-8, 25-15, 25-12.  Decatur is now 34-5 and 7-0. Wharton beat West Columbia on Tuesday and lost to Needville on Friday  and also lost to Cuero.  Heather Reynolds had 40 kills on the week. Cuero (27-5) 3-0 over Palacios.  Monahans beat Seminole 25-15, 25-14, 25-15 and Lamesa 25-14, 25-20, 25-9 to improve to 32-5, 7-0.

Comments: Richardson Pearce is 33-5 after beating Rockwall 25-15, 25-20, 25-13 while Brenham swept Willis 25-15, 25-15, 25-12.  Waxahachie and Waco Midway have split a pair of district meetings but Midway also split with Midlothian while Waxahachie beat Midlothian in their first district meeting and face off again.  Steele is 33-2 after crushing Boerne Champion 25-8, 25-17, 25-19 behind 18 kills by McKenzie Adams. Lake Travis continues to trim their district competition but Hutto has rallied after a slow start to improve to 5-1 in district. Dumas beat Pampa 26-24, 22-25, 25-18, 25-16 to claim their 22nd playoff spot in the last 22 years. Elsewhere out west, Canyon Randall sweeps Hereford 25-13, 25-9, 25-23 to claim the 3-4A district title. Friendswood beat  Pearland Dawson 20-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-8 as Annie Mitchem smacked 16 kills.  Denton Ryan defeated Denton Guyer 25-16, 18-25, 25-23, 25-20 while Red Oak swept Terrell and Lake Travis blasted Killeen winning in three by 75-27.

Comments:  Harlingen South is 28-1 overall and 10-0 in district.  North Crowley is 30-5 and is sitting atop the Fort Worth Star Telegram rankings.  Round Rock Stony Point and Cedar Park are fighting for the fourth and final playoff spot in district 16.  Stony Point had not won a district match in the previous three seasons and this year has a first time in school history win over defending champion Round Rock as well as a shot against Cedar Park this week.  Westwood and Westlake are ruling their respective Central Texas districts while Reagan continues to be queens of the mountain both in San Antonio and statewide.  Region 4 should be expecting as Westlake has Sara Shaw back, Regan, Churchill, O’Connor and a strong Harlingen South team should make the playoffs tense and exciting.  Over in East Texas, College Park defeated The Woodlands in 14-5A  district play 19-25, 22-25, 25-19, 25-13, 15-10.  College Park then swept New Caney 25-5, 25-16, 25-9 to improve to 29-8, 7-0.  Speaking of Harlingen South, the Lady Hawks clinched a third straight District 31-5A Championship with a victory over PSJA Memorial and now have an overall record of 29-1 and a district record of 11-0 with three matches remaining in the regular season.  San Antonio Reagan is 38-1 after sweeping the Lady Unicorns of New Braunfels 25-16, 25-20, 25-16 while Round Rock Westwood went to four to beat Georgetown 27-25, 25-17, 14-25, 25-16.  The Golden Sandstorm of Amarillo is 38-3 after sweeping San Angelo Central 25-12, 25-17, 25-12.  Elsewhere, San Antonio O’Connor swept Taft and Austin Westlake swept Connally.  Katy Cinco Ranch and Stratford both won as did Allen and both Austin Bowie and Corpus Christi King. Cypress Woods is 29-5 after beating Cypress Springs and El Paso Coronado swept Bel Air, 25-9, 25-3, 25-5. El Paso Franklin beat El Paso Hanks, 25-18, 25-17, 25-22.
